Guwahati: Assam has crossed the two crore mark of vaccination of its eligible citizens today against Covid-19 infection.
Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the news in a tweet.
“Proud to inform that Assam has achieved the milestone of 2 Cr vaccination against #Covid_19 today. Congratulations to all Heath workers for this important landmark @mansukhmandviya,” wrote Sarma.
A total of 1.6 crores have been administered with the first dose of the vaccine, while only 36,70,669 people are fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile, Assam has recorded 396 Covid-19 cases on Friday with a positivity rate of 0.52%. Five deaths were reported on Friday, and as many as 596 people recovered from the deadly virus.
