Digital Desk: In a
shameful incident reported from Assam's Nagaon district, an 11-year-old girl
was allegedly raped multiple times by her father. The accused father was
arrested on Tuesday based on a complaint filed by the minor girl's mother, and
he was brought before a court on Wednesday, where the court ordered the accused
to be placed in judicial custody. According to police sources, the accused man
allegedly raped his minor daughter on September 20 at their home in Longjap,
Nagaon, under the jurisdiction of the Kachua police station.
"The accused father
fled the house after committing the crime, and the girl's mother approached
locals but did not receive a proper response, so she later lodged a complaint
with the police on September 27," a senior police official said. Following
receipt of the complaint, the local police swung into action and arrested the
man on the same day, according to the same police officer. The mother of the
minor told cops that her husband had previously raped his daughter and had even
been arrested for the crime but was later released on bail.
Following his release, he resumed his monstrosity on his daughter, raped almost every day. The mother tried everything she could to stop him, but the accused was stronger. A few days ago, the Dhubri Additional Sessions Judge Court sentenced to life imprisonment a man who raped his minor niece under the guise of giving her chips and chocolates. The accused was also fined Rs 1 lakh by the court. According to a recent survey, 94 percent of sex offenders were known to the victims, and one out of every four victims was a minor.
