Digital Desk: Recent heavy rains have caused alarming rises in the water levels of the Subansiri and Ranganadi rivers in Lakhimpur. 

To manage the overflow, authorities have opened two gates of the Ranganadi dam as water levels exceeded safety marks. 

The Subansiri River has reached its highest levels in 13 years since 2011, with approximately 16,000 cubic meters per second flowing through the Subansiri mega dam since early morning. 

Authorities have issued safety alerts to residents living near these rivers to take necessary precautions.
