The voting for the second phase is ongoing in Dhubri, South Salmara, Mankachar, Goalpara, Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Bajali, Nalbari, Kamrup Rural, Kamrup Metro, Hojai, Nagao, Morigaon, and Darrang.

Digital Desk: Voting for the second phase of the Assam Panchayat Polls began on May 7 at 7:30 AM in 13 districts of Assam.  

The voting for the second phase is ongoing in Dhubri, South Salmara, Mankachar, Goalpara, Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Bajali, Nalbari, Kamrup Rural, Kamrup Metro, Hojai, Nagao, Morigaon, and Darrang.

A total of 1,289 candidates have been elected unopposed before the second phase of polling. Of these, 21 are Zila Parishad members, 151 are Anchalik Panchayat members, and 1,117 are Gaon Panchayat members.

The total number of voters for the second phase is 91,31,127. Of these, 46,30,924 are male voters and 44,99,952 are female voters.

There are 12,130 polling stations in 13 districts. A total of 29,608 candidates are contesting for the second phase of polling. Of these, 495 candidates are contesting for Zila Parishad, 2,388 candidates for Anchalik Parishad, and 26,725 for Gaon Panchayat members.

The voting will end at 4:30 PM.

The first phase of the Panchayat Polls in Assam concluded at 4:30 PM on Friday, May 2, with an overall voter turnout of 70.19%. The data was released by the Assam State Election Commission.

Over 1.80 crore voters will cast their votes in the ongoing Panchayat elections 2025, scheduled to take place in two phases.

The counting of votes for the elections will take place on May 11.
