Digital Desk: Employees of Assam's two shuttered paper mills are likely to receive their PF payments shortly, according to a member of the mills' Joint Action Committee of Recognised Unions (JACRU).

JACRU president Manabendra Chakraborty stated on Wednesday that he received a phone call from the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation in New Delhi, stating that the EPFO was taking the required procedures to ensure that their PF dues were remitted as soon as possible.

It is to be mentioned that, the call came in response to his tweet to the EPFO in April, in which he complained about the non-payment of PF dues by two mill employees.

He claimed that EPFO officials informed him that proper efforts were being taken to remedy the issue and that it will be resolved soon.

"We are hopeful that the EPFO authorities will resolve the matter quickly and that the mill employees will receive their PF dues," Manabendra Chakraborty added.
