Guwahati: In the latest development, Dispur police submitted a charge sheet to the court linked with model Rajkanya Baruah's accident case. 

Model Rajkanya Baruah injured 9 PWD workers after ramming her car into them on October 1, 2021. A charge sheet has been filed against Baruah by Guwahati police.

The charge sheet appeared just as Rajkanya's bail plea was set to be evaluated. The submission of the final report indicates Rajkanya has formally been regarded guilty of a crime.

According to the charge sheet copy, it may additionally be stated that in the 1/2 page charge sheet, the Dispur police hasn't said anything regarding hotel Taj Vivanta and the event organizers.

Baruah was granted bail just 24-hours after she committed the crime. However, the case took a twist after the controversy of granting bail to the model.

Upon controversy on her bail, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ordered investigation upon the investigating officer handling her case. 

Assam police re-arrested Rajkanya Baruah on October 6, 2021. Baruah was re-arrested after a medical report submitted by Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The medical report claimed that she had no serious illness for being admitted at GNRC hospital.

Former Miss India finalist Rajkanya Baruah has injured as many as eight workers of the PWD (Public Works Department) in a road accident in Guwahati, Assam.
