The state has 53,971 cases registered in 2019, 47,892 cases in 2020, and 56,517 cases in 2021.
Digital Desk: From January 1 to November 30, 2022, Assam witnessed 31,442 registered criminal cases.
The crimes included 994 murders, 2381 suicides, 1553 cases under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, 5172 incidents of violence against women, ten witchcraft-related killings, 9784 incidents of theft, 81 incidents of lootings, 1245 rapes, 3407 adductions, 164 child marriages, 64 cases of women trafficking, 40 cases of child trafficking, 2441 drug-related incidents, 4074 incidents of cheating and 26 incidents of torching vehicles.

Meanwhile, the total fines collected for traffic violations in the state until November were Rs 63,49,17,823, compared to Rs 24,66,77,290 in 2021, Rs 14,99,36,325 in 2020, and Rs 10,37,79,719 in 2019.
