Digital Desk: The Assam Rifles organized a massive rally for its ex-servicemen in West Bengal's Darjeeling to improve ties with them, an official said.

Reportedly, over 500 ex-servicemen participated in the rally.

The rally, held under the guidance of the Directorate General Assam Rifles (DGAR), had the theme "serving those who served us."

It was meant to build connections with the veterans, deepen relationships with them, and acknowledge their contributions to the nation during the prime of their lives, the Assam Rifles official said.

Major General DK Singh, the additional director general of the Assam Rifles, praised the veterans and serving soldiers of West Bengal, saying that they had made a significant contribution to the security and development of the Northeast and the country.

An eye check-up camp was also organized, with qualified physicians providing consultation and medicines to veterans and their families.
