Digital Desk: On Tuesday, the district magistrate in Karimganj, Assam, imposed Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). Reportedly, the strict regulations were implemented in anticipation of the start of the year-end celebrations and the picnic season.
Mridul Yadav, the district magistrate, issued an order that forbade picnickers from contaminating public areas and urged everyone to follow the rules. The directive further stated that it is improper for anyone to discard plastic bottles and rubbish in picnic areas.

Meanwhile, the district magistrate has imposed strict regulations on two-wheeler riders, including pillion riders, prohibiting them from riding without a helmet, driving without a seatbelt, swimming in and around picnic areas without a life jacket, and towing away any stray animals that obstruct the roadside in order to claim them.
"It observes cases of drunken driving, driving without helmets, seatbelt, over speeding, overtaking, overloading of passengers, use of mobile phones while driving, reckless driving, wrong side driving, driving without following traffic rules among the picnic goers and travelling during this festive season risking their own live as well as lives of others" - the district magistrate stated.
