This is a precautionary measure to ensure the animals' comfort in the cold weather conditions...

Digital Desk: The Assam State Zoo and Botanical Garden's management has taken measures to keep the animals warm during the winter, reports stated.

This is a precautionary measure to ensure the animals' comfort in the cold weather conditions.

According to reports, the Guwahati state zoo's management has set up heaters, used blankets and straw, and placed high-wattage electric lighting to make sure the animals and birds in the enclosure stay warm during the cold season.

According to insiders, the officials have also placed heaters for large animals like lions and tigers. Bears and deer, for example, utilize their paddy stubble, and other small animals use little blankets.

Additionally, the authorities stated that the heater in the animal enclosures is started every day at approximately 5 p.m. and shut off at approximately 5 or 6 a.m.

Rajani Kanta Deka, the head animal keeper of the Assam State Zoo, addressed this to ANI, saying that every safety measure has been taken to keep the animals comfortable throughout the winter.

Some zoo animals stay indoors when the temperature drops too considerably in order to keep themselves safe and healthy.

Certain species may encounter obstacles in their environment, such as wind or ice, which may hinder their ability to migrate.
