The DTO has been identified as Rajib Chandra Bordoloi. He was suspended last year for approving fake licenses in Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.

The CID has opened a case with case number 07/2023 under Sections 120 B/420/467/468/471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for the fraudulent issuance of replacement licenses in response to the complaint made by the Assam Transport Department.
