Digital Desk: Assam police arrested two suspected Assam police (PFI) members in Dhubri district on Monday (April 24, 2023) during a search operation.

Reportedly, the two inmates have been identified as Shafiqul Islam and Saiful Islam, both of them are the residents of Dhubri district. 

Dhubri police detained Shafiqul Islam during a raid in the Bagulamari district on the west bank of Dhubri Municipal Town.

Based on Shafiqul's confession, another operation was undertaken in the Alamganj Block-II area, and another suspected PFI member, Saiful Islam, was arrested.

''Both of the accused PFI members were teaching at a madrasa called Al-Jamiatul Asia Lil Banat Panbari in the Dhubri district,'' as per reports.

Following marathon interrogations, police have resumed their investigation; both suspected PFI members are currently dumbfounded in their mouths, an official said. 

PFI is an Islamic political organization in India that practices hardline and exclusive Muslim minority politics.
