Residents have urged the Government to take immediate action and construct a durable, concrete bridge to ensure safe and reliable connectivity for the community

Digital Desk: Seventy-eight years after India became independent, the residents of Langtha Village  (Ward No. 3) under East-Borpathar Gaon Panchayat, close to Sarupathar constituency, are using a risky iron railing bridge to cross the river.

The fragile iron bridge built by these villagers itself is the only way villagers can travel between Langtha and Premhora in the Golaghat District.  This bridge is vital for hundreds, including schoolchildren and patients, who risk their lives daily to commute across it.

So far, several accidents have caused people to fall from the fragile structure and be injured. The bridge, originally intended as a temporary solution, has now become a permanent fixture for the villagers.

Villagers have requested  Mr. Biswajit Phukan, MLA of Sarupathar, to act quickly and build a good, safe bridge for their connectivity.
