It will be the seventh year in a row that the country receives regular rainfall from June to September.
Digital Desk: The current spell of heavy rainfall is expected to continue over Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim for the next five days. Heavy rain is expected over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from June 14 to 16.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), an intense spell of rain is expected to continue along the west peninsular coast for the next two days.

1| Heavy rainfall is expected in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim. Heavy rain lash will also likely occur in East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana.
2| Thunderstorms are expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Coastal Karnataka, and Lakshadweep.
3| Rain with thunderstorms is expected over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Konkan and Goa, Telangana, and Kerala and Mahe.
4| Over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, Vidharbha, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Interior Karnataka, scattered rain with thunderstorms is expected.
5| Isolated rain and thunderstorms are possible in Bihar, West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat Region, and Saurashtra & Kutch.
6| In this period, Northeast India experienced heavy rain, with daily rainfall ranging from 150 to 200 mm. It could even reach 500 mm, posing flooding and landslides in the affected areas.
7| Rain will intensify across South India and the Maharashtra coast in the latter half of this week.
Meanwhile, from Thursday onwards, Western Disturbances and lower-level easterlies will bring widespread rain and thunderstorms to the western Himalayan region and adjoining plains.
Maximum temperatures across India will be above average on Tuesday before gradually cooling and more relaxed than regular readings in North India over the weekend.
However, the minimum temperatures will be significantly higher than in the western Himalayas and adjacent plains.
