The duo was called up and will represent India on their forthcoming tour of England...

Digital Desk: Great news for the state, Assam's women cricketers Uma Chetry and Jintimani Kalita will travel to England for the next tour, stated the Assam Cricket Association on Wednesday.

According to sources, the India A team for the upcoming England tour has been released, and both Uma and Jintimani have been inducted into the squad.

Assam Cricket Association shared the great news on their X handle, they said, "We're thrilled to share that Ms Uma Chetry and Ms Jinti Moni Kalita have been selected from Assam to join the India A team for the upcoming tour against England."
It should be noted that earlier, Uma Chetry was unlucky not to find a buyer during the auctions of the first Women's Premier League (WPL), but Jintimani was signed by the Mumbai Indians, for whom she played in their championship campaign.

Moving on to the particulars Uma Chetry was the first woman from Assam to be called up to an India squad, hailing from the Kandulimari village in Golaghat. She was a team member of India's gold-medal-winning team in the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
