Good news! Assamese film Swargarath got selected in the Main Stream category for Indian Panorama

Digital Desk: With the ongoing success of Assamese cinema,  another achievement has been made. The popular Assamese film Swargarath has been selected for the Indian Panorama in the mainstream section. Produced by AM Television, this recognition brings immense joy to the Assamese community as the film will be part of the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

The Assamese film is produced by Dr. Sanjive Narain and Dr. Akshata Narain and directed by renowned Filmmaker Rajesh Bhuyan. It also got a great public response after its release.

'Swargarath' is primarily a comedy genre Assamese film. The film was a commercial success after its release on 7th January 2024. The film featured Siddhartha Sarma, Kenny Basumatary, Kamal Lochan Deka, Udvawan Saikia, Bonny Deori, Rintu Bora and many others. The film was written by Shantanu Rowmuria and directed by Rajesh Bhuyan. Anurag Saikia and Arupjyoti Barua were the music directors.

'Swargarath' tells the life story of Boikuntha, the driver, three college students and two policemen The whole story revolves around a bag full of money The message of the film is that no matter what path people take to fulfill their desires, they ultimately get what they deserve at the end. The film was embraced by the audience for conveying such a beautiful message to society.

Along with Swargarath, two other Assamese films have been selected for the Indian Panorama. Dr. Bobby Sharma Barua's 'Juiful' and Jadumoni Dutta's'Rodor Pokhi'. However, Swargarath is included in the mainstream category. There are only 5 commercially successful films and Swargarath is the only Assamese film to be included among these 5 films. This news brings hope to the cultural world of Assam.

Indian Panorama will be held in Goa from 20th to 28th November.
