Nineteen-year-old Anshulaa Baruah from Guwahati is preparing to carry the hopes of Assam onto the national stage as she heads to the Miss Universe India pageant. A resident of Narengi, Baruah secured her place in the highly anticipated competition through a wildcard entry, earning the unique opportunity to represent her home state.
The national finale, to be held in New Delhi, will see Baruah compete against 52 other contestants from across the country, all vying for the coveted title. Her journey to the pageant has garnered significant local support and excitement.
Ahead of her departure, Anshulaa received a heartfelt send-off at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. Friends, well-wishers, and supporters gathered to extend their blessings and encouragement. They presented her with traditional Assamese gamosas and bouquets, symbolising the community's pride and best wishes.
Expressing her gratitude for the overwhelming support, Anshulaa stated that representing Assam at Miss Universe India is both a profound honour and a considerable responsibility. She shared that participating in the competition has been a cherished childhood dream and affirmed her commitment to delivering her absolute best performance on the national platform.
