Digital Desk: The Assam government has announced that Chief Secretary Pawan Borthakur's tenure will be extended by another three months. 


However, the decision comes as the state deals with several administrative challenges and continuing development projects.


Pawan Borthakur, an experienced administrator, will manage Assam's administrative bureaucracy until March 31, 2024. 


About Pawan Borthakur-


Paban Kumar Borthakur took over as Assam's chief secretary in September 2022 after his predecessor, Jishnu Barua, retired due to reaching the superannuation age.


Borthakur is a 1989 batch IAS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre from Kaliabor in Central Assam's Nagaon district.
