This is a dream come true for me, and also the people of Assam JoiAaiAxom.......

Digital desk: Famous swimmer Elvis Ali Hazarika created history by being the first person from Assam to swim solo across South Africa's Robben Island. During this amazing journey, he encountered aquatic animals, freezing water, and powerful currents, demonstrating his strength and determination.

Taking to social media Elvis stated, “Finally the day has come when I become the first Assamese to successfully swim the Robben Island Solo Swim. It was a greatly difficult, yet adventurous task as I swam along with a lot of Jellyfish, Sunfish, Dolphins, etc. The freezing cold water, Saltwater, and heavy currents made it even more difficult. It was extremely tiring, the swim, overall. This is a dream come true for me, and also the people of Assam. JoiAaiAxom.”

When Elvis looked back on the moment, he emphasized the mental and physical obstacles he had to overcome while describing it as extremely challenging yet exciting. Elvis's persistent dedication to accomplishing his goal is shown by his unrelenting perseverance in the face of harsh weather.

For Elvis, this accomplishment is a realization of a dream, a source of pride for the Assamese community as a whole as well as a mark of personal success. His triumphant solo swim serves as an example of the value of tenacity and the pursuit of greatness for would-be adventurers and sportsmen.

This is not the first time that Elvis Ali Hazarika made a milestone, before that on December 2023, he swam all across Elephanta Island Jetty to the Gateway Of India in Mumbai. Before that, the same year on July 2023 he swam solo from Northeast India to cross the English Channel, two ways (78 Km) to clock a time of 31 Hours by swimming it in a Relay from England Samphire to France Calis and then back.
