Dhekiajuli: A team of seven participants from Dhekiajuli, Assam, took part in the Asian Thai Boxing Championships 2021. All the players have played skillfully and brought pride to India as well as Assam.
The competition was held in Hyderabad, Telangana. The Thai Boxing Federation of India and Telangana Thai Boxing Federation organized the competition.
The team comprised Manas Pratim Saikia, Bhavesh Newar, Ganesh Boro, Lashita Das, Animesh Kalita, Ritu Bhuyani and Dhoobar Kurmi. Coach Anant Baradat gave training to the team at Kumfu Academy in Dhekiajuli.

Manas Pratim Saikia and Bhavesh Newar secured first positions in the event and brought gold for the nation. On the other hand, Ganesh Boro, Lashita Das, Animesh Kalita, Ritu Bhuyani won bronze, and Dhoobar Kurmi won a silver medal.
The team has returned to their homeland, and they are being welcomed with generosity and appreciation from all.
