Guwahati: Two teachers from Assam were selected for the National award to be honored on Teacher's Day on September 5 by President Ram Nath Kovind.


The two teachers who will be honored with the National award are Kankan Dutta of Bamunpukhuri High School, Jorhat, and Binanda Swargiary of KB Deulkhusi Higher Secondary School Baksa district.


The Union Ministry of Education, Department of School Education and Literacy, has published a list of the 44 selected teachers from across the nation for the National Awards to Teachers, 2021.


As per the official statement, the other selected teachers are two each from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, Bihar, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.


From CBSE school, two teachers from the Bal Bharati Public School, Dwarka, Delhi, and Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, were selected for the National award.


Moreover, a teacher from Eklavya model residential school, Karpawand, Bastar, Chhattisgarh, is also among the 44 recipients of the award.


Every year on Teacher's Day, the Government of India recognized the meritorious teachers working in the country's primary, middle, and secondary schools.
