Digital Desk: In the 75kg division at the Asian Boxing Championship, Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain took home the gold. In a 5-0 unanimous decision, she defeated Ruzmetova Sokhiba of Uzbekistan to claim the gold medal. The Olympic bronze medalist is competing in her first competition in her new weight division. Since her prior weight class is not included in the Paris Olympics, she had moved up from 69 kg to 75 kg.

The 25-year-old, who has had form issues since her significant victory at the Tokyo Olympics, will benefit much from the massive triumph at the Asian Championship. Early in the year, she had to withdraw from the World Championships and the Commonwealth Games.

Despite the two boxers' hesitation to start the battle and encouragement from the other to go first, Lovlina, who has made significant progress during the competition, was able to use her long reach and land a few solid jabs.

Although the two attempted to avoid each other's punches by circling around the ring, Lovlina was successful in landing hers. She threw a blow with such ferocity that the referee had no choice but to give it to her.

At the Asian Boxing Championships, Parveen Hooda, 22, won the gold medal in the 63 kg division as well.

Japan's Kito Mai was defeated by the World Championship bronze medalist by a score of 5-0 in a unanimous decision.

Both fighters started out aggressively, but Parveen, the top seed, was able to keep the bout under control by randomly jabbing her opponent.

Minashi earned the silver medal in the Women's 52kg Flyweight division, giving India yet another triumph. She was defeated by Japan's Kinoshita Rinka in the Women's 52kg Flyweight final by a Split decision, which cost her the opportunity to earn the gold medal.
