The officer reportedly jumped from the first floor of the government residence after writing the note
Digital Desk: On 10th July in Guwahati, an Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) attempted suicide by jumping from the first floor of the Magistrate Colony near Guwahati Club. The officer working as ADC in Kamrup Metro is undergoing in Nemcare Hospital and is said to be in critical condition.
As per the report, the officer who is an , Assam Civil Service (ACS) officer, left behind suicide note before attempting to take his life . It can be seen in the note, he clearly stated that no one is responsible for his actions, he held one person responsible for his actions.
The note read,
“I am solely answerable for my actions. I do not want my kid and wife to suffer in my cause. My family should not bear the consequences of my mistakes. I am sorry."
It is stated that the officer jumped from the first floor of the government residence after writing the note. He had been experiencing a neurological disability (he suffered an illness caused by a stroke) for the past year and was on continuous treatment. The high cost of treatment had reportedly taken a toll on his mental health as well.
The officer returned to his home on Thursday after a medical consultation. As he was late, he had asked his family to go ahead and dine outside. He stayed back and subsequently attempted. He stayed back in his apartment and subsequently attempted suicide.
The ADC is under intensive care, and his condition remains extremely serious. The incident has sent shockwaves through the administrative circle.
