Digital Desk: The Assam Police have intensified their crackdown on fake medical practitioners operating across the state. In a recent operation, four individuals posing as doctors were arrested from different districts, while another remains
These arrests were made as part of an ongoing investigation by the Anti-Quackery and Vigilance Cell of the Assam Medical Council. The drive has uncovered alarming numbers of fraudulent medical professionals endangering public health.
The arrested people are as follows:-
- Bimal Sutradhar, posing as an Ayurvedic doctor, was arrested in Juria.
- Pankaj Das, impersonating an MBBS doctor, was arrested at Sekonee Tea Estate in Nagaon district.
- A.K. Gogoi, who falsely claimed to have an MD in Medicine.
- Amarjyoti Nath, another fake MBBS doctor, was arrested in Jorhat.
Meanwhile, Abdul Wahid of Doboka, Hojai, also accused of practicing medicine without proper credentials issued is currently absconding.
