Digital Desk: Is Guwahati truly unsafe for women and young girls?
A bizarre and alarming incident took place on the night of August 17 in Ulubari, Guwahati.
As per report, an auto driver, identified as Jamshed Ali, attempted to divert a woman passenger’s route from Paltan Bazar to Ganeshguri, disregarding her intended destination.
The driver also hurled verbal abuse at the victim under the influence of alcohol.
Fortunately, the police intervened promptly at Ulubari and apprehended Jamshed Ali for abusing the female passenger.
Ali is currently in police custody at Paltan Bazar station.
