Digital Desk: A terrible incident took place in Sivasagar on the night of August 17, leaving the local residents in shock. According to reports, the incident arose over a dispute regarding labour wages.
A 16-year-old local student, Ujjwal Das, was brutally attacked by a man named Elias from Nagaon. As per report, Elias attacked Ujjwal with a dao after the student requested his payment.
The incident has caused widespread panic in the entire area. Ujjwal, a resident of Anamika Nagar on BG Road, is studying in the 11th grade.
Following the horrific incident, Ujjwal filed a complaint with the local police. However, his family members alleged that police were reluctant to take action against the culprit.
The family further stated that instead of taking action after the complaint, the police sent them back without any support.
They also alleged that police did not provide any medical assistance to Ujjwal during his visit to the police station.
Elias is reportedly a construction worker, while Ujjwal has been working as his helper.
Eventually, Elias was arrested by the Sivasagar police. The incident has triggered concerns over the safety of indigenous people in Sivasagar.
