This is Bajrang Punia's second gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, following his victory on Gold Coast in 2018...

Digital Desk: Bajrang Punia has proven himself as one of the world's best wrestlers after defeating Canada's Lachlan McNeil to win gold in the men's 65 kg wrestling category at the Commonwealth Games 2022. He is currently the first wrestler from India to take home a gold medal from Birmingham.

This is Bajrang Punia's second gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, having won the top spot on the podium in Gold Coast in 2018. Punia previously earned a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, making this his third successive medal at the quadrennial competition.
