  • Barpeta Police Seizes YABA Tablets Valued Crores

Digital Desk: The Barpeta police conducted a significant anti-drug operation under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sushant Biswa Sarma, resulting in a seizure of a large quantity of YABA tablets in Howly.


A truck, bearing the registration number AS 25 FC 3987, was intercepted while transporting 26,000 YABA tablets packed in 27 packets from Mizoram.


The drugs were concealed in a specially created shelf under the rear bumper and beneath the truck.


The estimated value of seized YABA tablets is approximately Rs 1.3 crore.


The truck driver, identified as Asmat Ali, a resident of Bilasipara in Dhubri, was arrested on charges of drug trafficking,


Barpata Additional Police Superintendent Jitesh Barman stated that due to the police's stringent anti-drug operations, drug traffickers have been forced to  modify their smuggling strategies.
