Digital Desk: On Friday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) fired the entire selection committee chaired by Chetan Sharma. The board has welcomed new applicants for the post, with criteria like as "they should have played a minimum of seven Test matches or 30 First Class matches or 10 ODIs and 20 FC games."
Furthermore, the BCCI stated that the candidates "should have resigned from the game at least 5 years ago."
"No person who has served on any Cricket Committee (as defined in the BCCI rules and regulations) for a total of 5 years shall be eligible to serve on the Men's Selection Committee," the spokesperson added.
Here the eight enlisted duties given by the cricket body for the new selectors:
1. Assemble the best possible team in a fair and transparent manner.
2. Plan and create a solid bench for the Senior Men's National Team.
3. Attend Team meetings as required.
4. Travel to see domestic and international matches.
5. Prepare and submit quarterly performance evaluation reports to the BCCI Apex Council.
6. Address the media on team selection as directed by BCCI.
7. Choose a Captain for each format.
8. Follow BCCI rules and regulations.
The selecting panel will consist of five people under the age of 60. The deadline for engaging is November 28.
