New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah played an essential role in forming a special committee for the nation's specially-abled cricketers. He has launched the second edition of the HAP Cup, the largest tournament for disabled players in India.

The BCCI formed the committee at the recent general body meeting held in Kolkata. 

The HAP Cup tournament will take place in Panchkula from December 28-31, 2021. The Indian Cricket Association plan this every year to extend the message of positivity and contentment.

This time, the best players have been divided into four teams for the tournament. The best teams will play the final rounds. 

Significantly, the teams are named after individuals from Australia. They helped bring relief to approximately 500 players with physical disabilities throughout the pandemic lockdown. The manager of veteran Australian cricketer Steve Waugh, Harley Medcalf, were among who led the relief drive for the players.
