Guwahati: The chief convener of Barak Democratic Front ( BDF), Pradip Dutta Roy, tested Covid-19 positive on Saturday. He was already undergoing treatment at Silchar Medical College & Hospital, as per sources.
Samples were sent for the RTPCR test. The reports of the test turned out to be positive on Saturday night.

Cachar Police arrested the BDF chief Dutta on November 28, 2021. Dutta’s lawyer had applied for bail in Silchar court, citing health reasons. On this ground, the court has granted interim bail on November 8.
Pradip Dutta was into controversies for his alleged comments on the Assamese language and disturbing the peace and harmony between communities.
