Digital Desk: The Orunodoi scheme will now be raised to Rs 1,450, as pledged by Assam cabinet minister Pijush Hazarika.

The declaration, which demonstrated the government's dedication to improving the well-being of the state's residents, was made at a recent public gathering in Bhergaon LAC.

"We have been able to do a lot of work for the tea garden workers in the last seven years," Hazarika stated while addressing the crowd in public. "Previously receiving a daily salary of Rs. 115, our tribal brothers now receive Rs. 250," he added.

Hazarika added that the administration led by the BJP took the initiative to create the garden road, something that no one had done five years earlier.

In the meeting, the Minister additionally highlighted the steps taken over the last five years for weavers, garden labourers, and women.

The Minister stated that formerly, males from the garden were unable to obtain employment, but the government has now cleared the road for children from the garden to obtain employment through the creation of a 3% reservation for children from the garden.

The money from the previous Orunodoi plan has now been enhanced from Rs 850 to Rs 1250. The minister also vowed to raise the amount to Rs 1,450.

Minister Pijush Hazarika criticised the Congress party in his speech, saying that the Congress had given jobs by receiving money, but we would not do that task.

It may be noted that an extensive number of people attended today's public awareness gathering at Kalikhola in No. 33 Nonai Serphang Mandal under the newly established Bhergaon Assembly constituency.

MP Dilip Saikia, Kamalpur MLA Diganta Kalita, BJP Udalguri district president Rupam Goswami, party activists, and local residents also attended the meeting.
