Given the circumstances, Poonam requested to her family that her last wish be for her daughter Chandni, who is around 26 years old, to marry before her.

Digital Desk: In an emotional yet touching incident, a woman from Bihar's Gaya is receiving accolades from all over for fulfilling her gravely ill mother's final desire. The woman's mother's dying wish was to watch her daughter marry in front of her, and it was actually granted. The woman married her fiance just outside the ICU of a private hospital where her mother was being treated.

After the unique wedding ceremonies were completed, the bride and groom received blessings from the ailing mother Poonam Kumari Verma, a resident of Bali village of Guraru block. However, the sick mother died just a few hours after the wedding.

The mother was being treated at a private hospital in Gaya's Magistrate Colony. Her health was described as critical. Doctors had warned the family members to be ready for anything.

Given the circumstances, Poonam requested to her family that her last wish be for her daughter Chandni, who is around 26 years old, to marry before her.

Notably, Chandni's marriage was arranged with Sumit Gaurav (about 28), a resident of Gurua police station's Salempur hamlet. The engagement ceremony for both was set for December 26.

Sumit's family members were informed about Poonam's final wish. Following this, both families agreed to arrange the marriage in the hospital itself in order to fulfil Poonam's final wish.

Sumit Gaurav and Chandni later married outside the ICU in the hospital. The bride and groom were claimed to have garlanded each other without any frills. Two to four persons from both sides were present during this time.

Chandni Kumari, who was overjoyed with the marriage, revealed that her mother Poonam worked as an Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife (ANM) at Magadh Medical College and Hospital and was constantly ill following the Corona period. She was afflicted with a heart condition. According to Chandni Kumari, she married in the hospital to fulfil her mother's request. The mother died only two hours after the wedding.
