Digital Desk: Pratiksharani Borgohain of Guwahati was chosen Bihu
Samragi 2023, while Banani Gogoi of Moran and Ananya Phukan of Lakhimpur were named
Bihu Rani and Bihu Konwari, respectively, at this year's 72nd Guwahati Bihu
Sanmilani.
Seven candidates competed in the recent Bihu event, which took
place on April 16.
Dulumoni Bora, on the other hand, was named 'Shrestha Dhuliya'
(Best Drummer), and Debajit Tamuli was named 'Shrestha Pepa Badok' (Best
Hornpipe Instrumentalist).
This year's Bihu Sanmilani was held at Guwahati's Latasil
playground, as in previous years.
The Latasil Bihu Sanmilani
lasted four days, beginning on April 14.
Bihu Rani/Bihu Konwori competition was held on the first day of
the beautiful Bihu event, while Bihu Samragi competition was held on April 17.
It should be noted that the Guwahati Bihu Sanmilani in Latasil is
Assam's oldest Bihu venue.
It has hosted Bihu
programmes since 1952.
