The state government will provide help to those people whose homes were destroyed in the violence, she said.

Digital Desk: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asserted on Friday that the BJP and other right-wing groups were responsible for the riots that occurred on Ram Navami in the industrial town of Howrah.

She appealed to the locals to keep the peace.

"The event in Howrah is very regrettable. The violence in Howrah was not committed by either Muslims or Hindus. The BJP participated in the armed conflict alongside the Bajrang Dal and other similar groups "Banerjee stated to ABP Ananda, a Bengali news channel.

All individuals whose properties were damaged in the fighting will receive assistance from the state government, she said.

According to the CM, 31 people have been arrested in relation to the violence that occurred on Thursday in Howrah.

She asserted that there was "laxity in a section of the administration? she said strict action would be taken against those involved in the clash.

During the Ram Navami celebrations, fights between two factions started to happen. Police reported that the region saw shoplifting and the torching of several vehicles.

Due to the presence of a sizable police presence in the area on Friday, the atmosphere in and around the Kazipara area of the district, which saw conflicts between two factions during Ram Navami, was calm and under control.
