Digital Desk: Legal action has been taken against BJP MP and actor Ravi Kishan for violating the model code of conduct and covid-19 guidelines during a campaign for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, reports said. On Sunday, the Bhojpuri singer and Gorakhpur MP visited Noida to campaign for BJP MLA Pankaj Singh, who is fielding for the re-election as the party's candidate. Even though the Election Commission of India (ECI) has outlawed physical rallies and only allows door-to-door campaigns in light of the epidemic, a large crowd attended Kishan's event in Chotpur village, exceeding the allowed maximum number of ten individuals. The videos from the event have also gone viral on social media, proving that he had violated the model code of conduct and the covid-19 restrictions. "During the election campaign, the police took note of a social media video that appeared to reveal a violation of EC standards and covid-19 protocols. The local Sector 63 police station's in-charge has filed a report about the event with the returning officer in Noida for further legal action." Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) stated. The first of seven-phase polls in Uttar Pradesh will take place on February 10 in Noida, in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district. On March 10, the results will be announced.
