Moreover, JP Nadda has been given the power to independently make big decisions, however, these will need to be approved by the party's legislative board thereafter.

Digital Desk: The tenure of BJP chief JP Nadda has been extended till June of this year. The party's national council gave its approval to the move on Sunday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had announced in January.

Moreover, JP Nadda has been given the power to independently make big decisions, however, these will need to be approved by the party's legislative board thereafter.

This decision was made on the second day of the BJP's national council meeting in Delhi, where the top leadership and thousands of party members gathered to talk about the party's campaign themes and strategy for the approaching Lok Sabha elections.

When Amit Shah, the party's then-leader, was appointed as a Union minister in 2019, JP Nadda took over as the BJP's working president. In 2020, Nadda assumed full-time leadership of the party.

While announcing an extension to Nadda's tenure as BJP's national president in January, Amit Shah remarked, "Under JP Nadda’s leadership, we had the highest strike rate in Bihar. The NDA won a majority in Maharashtra, won in Uttar Pradesh, and our numbers increased in West Bengal. We also registered a landslide victory in Gujarat."

In the meantime, Nadda urged all BJP members to make sure that the party wins more than 370 seats and the NDA crosses 400 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Saturday, expressing his "firm belief in the strengths and capabilities" of party workers.

"I am a strong believer in our karyakartas' abilities and qualities. We must continually strengthen our booths. We have to use every effort to make sure that the NDA wins 400 seats and we win 370 seats," Nadda stated.
