Maneka Gandhi started a vicious assault on the religious organization...

Digital Desk: ISKCON is being called the "biggest cheat in the country," and "it sells cows from its gaushalas (cowsheds) to the butchers," as stated in a video of Bharatiya Janata Party MP Maneka Gandhi.

The former Union Minister and animal rights advocate is heard saying in the widely shared video, "ISKCON establishes gaushalas and earns unlimited benefits for the same from the government, in the form of huge lands."

Maneka Gandhi started a vicious assault on the religious organization, stating, "I recently visited their Anantapur Gaushala (in Andhra Pradesh) and did not find even a single cow in good condition there."

Maneka Gandhi said that "there were no calves in the Gaushala, which means that all of them were sold off."

No one does this more frequently than ISKCON, which sells all of its cows to butchers. Maneka Gandhi was heard saying in the film, "They are the ones that roam on the streets chanting 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' and say their entire life is dependent on milk."

ISKCON Public Relations Officer (PRO) Radharaman Das later released a video in which he criticized Maneka Gandhi for her comments and demanded support for her statements.

The Anantapur Gaushala employees claimed they had no knowledge of Maneka Gandhi's visit, contrary to the ISKCON PRO's other allegation that she hadn't been there.

The ISKCON PRO further urged Maneka Gandhi to show a video of the Gaushala, which she claimed was in a miserable state.

The Hare Krishna Movement, or ISKCON, aims to "systematically propagate spiritual knowledge to society at large and to educate all people in the techniques of spiritual life in order to check the imbalance of values in life and to achieve real unity and peace in the world," stated its website.
