Ajay Sharma expressed his desire for Neha to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections if Congress secures the Bhagalpur seat...

Digital Desk: Bollywood actor Neha Sharma, known for her roles in films like "Crook" and "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior," might be stepping into the political arena, according to her father, Congress leader Ajay Sharma.

As a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Bihar's Bhagalpur, Ajay Sharma expressed his desire for Neha to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections if Congress secures the Bhagalpur seat in their party's seat-sharing arrangement with allies.

In a statement to reporters, Ajay Sharma asserted, "Congress should get Bhagalpur, we will fight and win the seat. If Congress gets Bhagalpur, I would want my daughter Neha Sharma to contest, since I am already an MLA. But if the party wants me to fight, I will do that." This revelation hints at Neha Sharma's potential foray into the political realm, adding a new dimension to her career beyond the silver screen.

Neha Sharma's journey in Bollywood began with her debut opposite Emraan Hashmi in "Crook," followed by notable appearances in films like "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2," "Tum Bin 2," and "Mubarakan." Besides her acting prowess, she has garnered a substantial following on social media, particularly on Instagram, where she shares captivating travel content with over 21 million followers.

Ajay Sharma's remarks also shed light on the political landscape in Bihar, with the INDIA alliance aiming to challenge the BJP-NDA coalition in the upcoming elections. He expressed confidence in the alliance's ability to "wipe out" the BJP from Bihar and voiced his determination to remove Prime Minister Narendra Modi from power.

However, the seat-sharing discussions faced complications when Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar terminated ties with Congress and aligned with the BJP earlier in the year. Despite this setback, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav assured that the seat-sharing negotiations were nearing completion, with an official announcement expected soon.

With the Lok Sabha elections scheduled to take place in seven phases from April 19 to June 1, and assembly polls concurrently held in four states, Neha Sharma's potential political debut adds an intriguing element to the unfolding political saga, not only in Bihar but also on the national stage.
