Senior officers and commandants have been assigned to the border area and are operating in mission mode.

Digital Desk: The Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya Frontier has significantly enhanced security along its 444-kilometre segment of the India-Bangladesh border due to the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh. This escalation in security is designed to improve border management and prevent illegal crossings and smuggling.

Inspector General Harbax Singh Dhillon announced that BSF personnel and field commanders are on high alert, closely monitoring the situation across the border to manage any unexpected developments.

Senior officers and commandants have been assigned to the border area and are operating in mission mode. All land customs stations and integrated check posts-old along Meghalaya’s international border are under heightened scrutiny, with restrictions on civilian movement.

In collaboration with the BSF, the Meghalaya state government has imposed a night curfew across the entire international border. Local police and civil administration have also increased their vigilance, advising residents to stay particularly alert.

These actions are part of a broader strategy to ensure effective border control and maintain security in response to the evolving situation in neighboring Bangladesh.
