Imphal: Indian boxer and Olympic medalist MC Mary Kom’s husband K Onkholer is set to step onto the ring of politics soon.
The ace boxer’s husband himself announced about his political ambitions during a public meeting held in Manipur on Saturday.
He said that he wishes to contest in the upcoming Assembly elections in Manipur.
Further he has also the chosen the constituency he wishes to begin his political career from. He said he is likely to stand from the Saikot constituency in the Churachandpur district of the state, because he believes that there are many things that needs to be done for the overall development of the constituency.

However, Onkholer did not make any announcement as to which party he would contest the elections from. He is not a member of any political party right now.
According to sources there are high chances that he might wish to contest as an independent candidate. Besides, some sources also reveal that he is likely to join the ruling BJP soon and contest from a BJP ticket.
