Digital Desk: To ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election in the Cachar district, the Cachar police, under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Sanjib Kumar Saikia (APS), organised a grand roadshow.


The roadshow began at Ghungoor Bypass, passing through Sonabarighat, and extended up to the Manipur border before concluding at Rangirkhari Police Outpost.


Speaking to the media after the event, SSP Sanjib Kumar Saikia stated that the primary objective of the initiative was to instill confidence among voters, enabling them to cast their votes without any fear or intimidation.


He further emphasised that the roadshow was designed to enhance the sense of security and uplift the morale of the electorate.


He also assured that adequate security personnel have been deployed to maintain peace and order during the election period.


The event witnessed active participation from Assam Police, along with personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Border Security Force (BSF).
