Guwahati: The streets of Guwahati has been bloodied again by a sensational murder. Going on the lines of the Dhemaji murder incident, today's incident reprises Nandita Saikia's murder case.

A youth identified as Sanjay Lalung allegedly murdered a girl, right in front of her mother in Jorabat, and fled in his car only to be arrested later by the Satgaon police.

As per preliminary reports, the accused Sanjay Lalung is a resident of Jorabat's Amsing, Santi Basti, who was in love with the victim identified as Moromi Tanti, also a resident of Santi Basti.

Sanjay had been approaching Moromi for a long time, but everytime, the victim rejected his proposals.

Enraged by the constant rejection, Sanjay drove to Moromi's place where he found Moromi walking with her mother. Sanjay stepped down from his car and straightaway slashed the victim's neck. The victim died there instantly, while the victim's mother has gone into shock unable to perceive what actually happened in that split seconds.

Shaken by her daughter's grievous murder, the woman is inconsolable, while locals come out to see after hearing the commotion.

While Sanjay fled in his car after murdering Moromi. Not much later, the Satgaon Police is able to arrest him successfully after giving a chase.

For the unversed, in the Dhemaji murder case, Nandita Saikia, a student of a three-year degree course at the Moridhal College in Northern Assam’s Dhemaji district, was attacked with a machete on by one Rintu Sharma who was a non-teaching employee of the college. One of her friends and her (friend’s) father were also injured in the attack. It is supposed that Rintu was Nandita's estranged boyfriend who murdered Nandita for rejecting his love proposals.
