In the suspected insurance scam case, the CBI searched nine places in J&K and Delhi...

Digital Desk: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the homes of former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik's aides on Wednesday in connection with an insurance scam investigation. The investigation agency searched eight additional locations in Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir.

The CBI teams began their search early this morning at the residence of the former Governor's aide and other locations.

The move comes less than a month after the agency questioned Satya Pal Malik on April 28. His previous declaration was made in October of last year, after he completed his gubernatorial duties in Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Goa, and Meghalaya.

The CBI filed two FIRs in connection with Malik's claims of corruption in the allocation of contracts for a group medical insurance scheme for government employees, as well as civil works worth Rs 2,200 crore relating to the Kiru hydroelectric power project in Jammu and Kashmir.

Malik previously stated that he was given a Rs 300 crore payment to clear two files during his term as governor of Jammu and Kashmir from August 23, 2018, to October 30, 2019.
