The Indian people honoured the national tricolour in various ways as part of the Union government's "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign, which was launched on Saturday.

Digital Desk: The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is being celebrated in every corner of India, and every region is finding different ways to celebrate the auspicious day. Amid this, the Union Territory of Chandigarh created a new Guinness Book of World Record for the largest human image of a waving national flag on Saturday.

Together, Chandigarh University and NID Foundation achieved the milestone.

The Indian people honoured the national tricolour in various ways as part of the Union government's "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign, which was launched on Saturday.



The Indian flag was formed with human formations, and the movement was adjusted such that it appeared to be waving in the image.

The event was also attended by Meenakshi Lekhi, the Union Minister of Culture.

"This record is for the largest human representation of a waving national flag. Years ago, the UAE set one such record. Thanks to the participation of 5,885 people, that record was set today, according to GWR Official Adjudicator Swapnil Dangarikar.

The Har Ghar Tiranga is a three-day event held to commemorate the country's 75th anniversary of independence. Amit Shah, a prominent member of the BJP and the Union Home Minister, today also raised the flag at his residence in Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to continue using the national flag as their profile image on social media. Together with senior BJP leaders, he changed his social media accounts profile pictures.
