Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a press conference at Vajpayee Bhawan today to address the serious allegations levelled against his wife Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, by senior Congress leader Pawan Khera.
During the briefing, CM Sarma vehemently refuted the charges, stating that the Congress party has stepped to an all-time low.
He expressed disappointment in Gaurav Gogoi, remarking that he never imagined the son of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi would descend to such tactics.
Sarma warned that legal action would be taken against this conspiracy, noting that such offenses could carry a penalty of life imprisonment.
Furthermore, CM Sarma alleged that the entire Congress narrative was orchestrated through a WhatsApp group based in Pakistan, suggesting a "Pakistan link" behind the incident.
CM Sarma has raised serious allegations of foreign interference in the state's electoral process, claiming that eleven Pakistani media outlets have already hosted eleven talk shows on the subject.
To demonstrate the vulnerability of document forgery, the CM revealed that a fake Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) was created by BJP under the name "Gaurav-Elizabeth 786."
He explained that registering a company under any name is remarkably simple, citing the instance where similar tactics involving Photoshop and AI were allegedly used by the Congress party against Riniki Bhuyan Sarma.
The CM further alleged that an individual named Ashraf Kader uploaded these fraudulent documents to a Pakistani social media group.
The noted that the forgery was exposed by a blatant chronological error; while the series indicated the year 1996, the bottom of the document listed 1973.
Additionally, CM Sarma pointed out that another individual, Tipu Sultan, who has been active on Facebook for nearly eight years, shared the content to a Pakistani group on March 28.
These counter-allegations follow a high-profile press conference in Delhi, where Pawan Khera disclosed details regarding the massive assets allegedly owned by CM Sarma's wife.
Khera claimed that Riniki Bhuyan Sarma holds passports from three different countries and possesses investments worth Rs 52,000 crore in a US-based company.
These shocking allegations have sparked a major political uproar across the state.
