Collecting coins for the last 8 years, the daily wage worker buys a two-wheeler

On Tuesday, a daily wage laborer in Guwahati, Assam, gifted himself a two-wheeler with money he had saved for over eight years in a piggy bank.

Digital Desk: Upen Roy, a resident of the city's Boragaon neighborhood, purchased a white scooter and paid in coins, which he brought to the shop in a sack. He had been saving coins in the denominations of Re 1, Rs 2, Rs 5, and Rs 10 since 2014 since he had always wanted to acquire a two-wheeler.

He collected a portion of his savings and went to a local dealer to buy his dream bike after seeing his collection had grown to Rs 1.5 lakh.

The Barpeta district stationery shopkeeper had been saving money for months and arrived at a showroom with a bag full of coins.

Hirak J Das, a YouTuber, revealed the incident after sharing his tale and photos on Facebook. "Even if it takes a lot of money to fulfill a dream, it can sometimes be achieved by constantly saving little by little," Das wrote.
