India now has 322 contingent members, including three general managers, 26 additional officials, and 72 team officials.

Digital Desk: For the first time since 1998 in Kuala Lumpur, when the men's cricket teams from the Commonwealth countries took part in the quadrennial tournament for the first and only time, cricket will be played in the Commonwealth Games. In an effort to further popularise the sport, women's cricket is making its competitive debut at the multi-sport event.

The World Champions Australia, Barbados, and Pakistan are in Group A with the Harmanpreet Kaur-captained Indian women's cricket squad. Harmanpreet's assistant will be Smriti Mandhana. The two wicketkeepers are Taniya Bhatia and Yastika Bhatia. Additionally, three players have been placed on standby.

"On Monday, the All-India Women's Selection Committee met to choose the team for the next Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022. Women's T20 International will be included in the famous multi-sport tournament for the first time, according to a BCCI statement.

World Championships in Athletics, the Commonwealth Games, India vs. England, and other events are scheduled for July 2022.


"Australia, Barbados, and Pakistan are also in Group A alongside India. Group B includes South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. The top two teams from each pool advance to the semi-final round. Beginning on July 29, 2022, India is set to play three games in the league stage of the competition.

 

The 215-member group from India going to Birmingham for the quadrennial tournament will include the women's cricket squad. The 108 men and 107 women who are a part of the touring party have been referred to as a "gender-neutral contingent" by IOA interim president Anil Khanna and Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur.
