"How can we take the Prime Minister's remarks seriously when he takes pride in providing free foodgrains to 80 crore people?"

Digital Desk: The Congress struck back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, stating that he was once again employing his "toolkit" of "cursing" past governments in Rajasthan, but that the people of the state will respond appropriately, as they had in Karnataka.

After Modi accused the Congress of betraying the poor during its 50-year rule at a rally in Ajmer, party spokesperson Pawan Khera said they do not take the prime minister's remarks seriously because someone who takes pride in giving free foodgrains to 80 crore people should realise that he has to do so because crores of people have fallen back into poverty.

"How can we take the Prime Minister's remarks seriously when he takes pride in providing free foodgrains to 80 crore people?"

"The country's economy is in shambles, and the PM is using the toolkit to curse the previous administrations." He utilised this toolset in Karnataka, and the public responded. "You will now receive an appropriate response from the people of Rajasthan as well," Khera added.

He claimed that the World Bank, "from whom the Modi government wishes to obtain a certificate," declared that the Manmohan Singh government lifted 27 crore people out of poverty during the UPA administration.

"Those 27 crore have fallen back into poverty, and 14 crore more have fallen below the poverty line during the BJP's tenure." This is why Narendra Modi must distribute free foodgrains to 80 crore people," he remarked.

PM Modi remarked in Ajmer, Rajasthan, that the Congress is furious because a "son of the poor" is not enabling them to do what they want and is "raising questions on their corruption and parivarwaad (dynastic politics)."

The prime minister accused the Congress of deceiving the masses and keeping them impoverished during its rule. "Fifty years ago, Congress promised to eliminate poverty. However, it turned out to be their worst betrayal of the poor." "The Congress has made it a policy to mislead the poor and keep them impoverished." "The people of Rajasthan have also suffered greatly as a result of this," Modi remarked.

The demonstration was scheduled to commemorate the end of the Modi government's two mandates, which lasted nine years.

The BJP government's nine years were dedicated to people's service, excellent governance, and the welfare of the poor, he remarked.

Before 2014, people were on the streets protesting corruption and terror attacks rocked major cities, according to Modi, while the Congress ruled the country by remote control.

During its reign, the Congress created a corrupt system that "sucked the blood of the country" and stifled progress, he claimed.

Now, the prime minister stated, people all over the world are talking about India, and experts believe the country is on the verge of ending extreme poverty.

Modi's visit to Rajasthan is significant because the state's assembly elections are scheduled for later this year.
