Digital Desk: Kukur Mara Police in Chhaygaon, Assam, conducted a significant operation on Sunday against country-made liquor and recovered around 500 litres of it, officials stated.

According to reports, the operation was carried out in the dense jungle behind the Kukur Mara village market.

The individuals involved ran for their lives upon seeing the police officials arrive. They managed to escape from the grasp of the officials and successfully flee from the spot.

The operation was carried out under the aegis of police officer Biswajyoti Das. Officials were able to seize around 500 litres of locally produced alcohol during the drive, even though the suspects managed to escape.

After retrieving the illegal liquor, authorities disposed of it in the Kalahi River.

It should be noted that Assam Police constantly conducts drives against countryside liquor dens around the state as they are harmful to consumers and can also lead to death.
